Meet the LIVEº Staff:

 Doug

Doug

Growing up in Los Angeles I had my first cross-cultural missions experiences in the Mexicali Valley of Northern Mexico as a high school student. While attending BIOLA University and Talbot Seminary, I served in pastoral ministry in Southern California and continued in local church ministry for 20 years after graduation. Missions, discipleship and prayer became the 3 things that keep popping up in the ministry God has had me involved with.
In 2001 our family came into the Reachglobal family of the EFCA, where we started training others in short-term missions and later I served as director of Short-term ministries, giving oversight to the short-term missions of the EFCA.

I have been very happily married to my wife Christina for 17 years. We have two boys (Andrew-5, and Daniel-1). After spending 7 years in Mexico City, as a church planter, I was given the opportunity to join LIVEº. I love working to bridge the gap between LIVEº teams and our international partners as well as helping in the day-to-day functions of LIVEº. When I am not working I can be found enjoying a cup of coffee with my wife, wrestling with Andrew, riding my bike or reading a book.

I am from Walnut Creek, CA where I worked as an office manager for a financial planning office. I am excited to bring my gifts and skills to the LIVEº team. I Love Jesus. I also like reading, everything outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends.

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where I learned to love outdoor sports.  Some of my favorites are mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and disc gulf.  While in UT I spent much of my time with high school students mentoring and teaching them to pursue a relationship with God.  Other places I have lived are Kansas, Chicago, Ghana, Austria, California, and Wisconsin.  I married my wife Kim the fall of 2005.  Some of our favorite activities together are riding our tandem bicycle and motorcycle, hiking, camping, playing games and eating with friends.

I’m from the wonderful, hot, foggy valley of California.  I attended CSU Stanislaus in my home town and worked in accounting before and after graduating from Multnomah Biblical Seminary.  Crossroads Church of Turlock has been significant in developing in me a heart for missions.   Through their participation in my life I learned about God’s love for me and for the world.  We went on a dozen mission trips to Mexico throughout my high school and college days.  I’ve been on mission trips to Europe, Mongolia, Philippines, Peru, and Thailand.  Most recently I was impacted by the needs and the amazing things God is doing in India.  I was there in January ‘07 with Doug and Jason, my husband.
