What is involved in the application process?

There are three parts to the process. The first part is the Preliminary Information Form, which initiates the process and lets us know about your interest. Then there will be a formal application in which we will gather information about you, your call to ministry, and your alignment with the values and objectives of LIVE0. Following that you will receive an invitation to our Readiness Evaluation Event which is designed to let us get to know you in a very personal way and allows LIVE0 affirm your readiness to be a part of a LIVE0 team. This may seem to be a lengthy process but we are committed to healthy teams and to allow any member of a LIVE0 team to make an easy transition to full-time ministry following their LIVE0 term, should they desire to do so.

To find out more about this aproach to ministry visit LifeWind International. In some cases teams will be involved in education, orphanages, and/or vocational training.

What kind of training will I receive once I arrive?

The first several months after arriving in the host country will be spent on language and culture acquisition. Can I come home for Christmas or other holidays?

We recognize that two years can seem like a long time but we also recognize the importance of continuity in ministry. We encourage team members to remain in country for the entire length of the term. Each situation will be dealt with on a case by case basis and will ultimately be a decision made by team leadership.

Can people come to visit me while I am in the host country?

There are no hard-and-fast rules regarding visits. Housing for visitors may or may not be readily available and will surely impact the ability to receive visitors. The decision whether to receive visitors will be a decision made by team leadership taking into account the impact on ministry that the presence of additional expatriots will have.
